3048X8.938 Standard Locknut Part Number
This is a series of adapter assemblies used for thin section bearings. They are the most commonly used method for locating tapered bore roller bearings onto a cylindrical shaft. This series of adapters is used with 230 series spherical roller bearings.

- SNW3024 through SNW3044 series use a thin series (N-000) locknut and (W-000) lockwasher configuration.SNP3048 and larger use thin section (N-000) locknuts and (P-000) lockplates to accommodate larger shaft assemblies.
- Can be mounted directly to a straight shaft or on against the step on a stepped shaft for accurate axial positioning.
- Adapter sleeves and N and AN locknuts can be reused, provided they are not damaged. A new lockwasher or locking plate should be used each time the corresponding locknut is installed.
- Conforms with ABMA, SAE and ABEC standards for bearing and power transmission applications. Unless otherwise specified, manufactured from AISI grade 1000 or 1200 series steel.
- Bearing bore surface finish will not exceed 100 microinches for sizes 00-10, 120 microinches for sizes 11-22, and 150 microinches for sizes above 22.
